Electrical storms in this location are always spectacular. First the squall slams the exposed windward side of the house with such brute force that you fear for the roof, but the deluge of rain holds the iron in place, the roar is deafening. Night time is illuminated by lightening flashes following by ear splitting claps of thunder. It’s time to set the camera on the tripod in preparation for the storm front’s retreat, when the lightning forks will fill the view out to sea.
No matter where we are, when thunder rumbles above, our trembling canine friend reminds us of storms by the coast.
